The sample profile inspected through the public lookup loaded a large front-facing image through the jail's image service. The result list did not show thumbnail photos. The photo appeared after opening an individual profile from the search results, which means a name match alone is not enough for a Floyd County booking photo check.
The roster is regional. It covers Floyd County commitments along with other jurisdictions served by NRVRJ, so a photo on the system may belong to someone booked from another county. The County field must be checked with the name, date of birth, booking number, and commitment date. No official NRVRJ recent-bookings photo gallery, daily booking-photo PDF, or most-wanted gallery was found in the inspected jail navigation. NRVRJ did not publish a fixed rule for how long a booking photo remains online after release. Floyd County Mugshot Law
Virginia FOIA and Virginia's law-enforcement records statute control public access to jail records and booking-photo requests. Public access is not a blanket promise that every image must appear online forever. Do not treat commercial mugshot-publishing or pay-to-remove pages as official records, complete records, or proof that a photo should still be public.
Public and Not Public
A Floyd County mugshot can be public in the sense that an official jail profile displays it or that a request may be made for an existing public record. That does not mean every related detail is public. The inspected NRVRJ profile did not show a home address, phone number, Social Security number, next court date, arresting officer, full warrant packet, or housing pod. Those limits are important because the booking photo is only one part of a larger custody file.
What is and isn't public: The public profile may show a booking photo, descriptors, county, commitment date, bond rows, and charge rows. Restricted, exempt, sealed, juvenile, investigative, medical, security, or nonpublic personal information may be withheld or routed through another custodian.
Booking photos also do not show guilt. A photo means a person was processed into custody for a listed event. The court file is where the charge status later appears as pending, dismissed, amended, nolle prosequi, convicted, or otherwise resolved. Floyd County Photo Retention
No official NRVRJ page inspected for this build stated a set number of hours, days, or months that Floyd County jail mugshots remain visible after release. A person may disappear from the current roster after release, transfer, state prison movement, data update, or another administrative change.

State Federal ICE Photos
Floyd County jail mugshots are local or regional jail photos. They are not the same as state prison photos, federal booking photos, or immigration detention records. When a person is sentenced to state prison, use the Virginia Department of Corrections inmate and supervisee locator. VADOC records may include a state offender photo, but that photo belongs to the state prison or supervision record and is not the NRVRJ booking mugshot.
Federal systems work differently. The Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator is used for federal sentenced custody, and public BOP locator results are not a local mugshot gallery. Federal pretrial custody may involve the U.S. Marshals Service and contract facilities, so a local jail photo may not stay current after a federal transfer. Search ICE by A-Number and country of birth or by biographical information when immigration custody is the issue.
VINE is different again. Virginia VINE is a custody-notification portal, useful for release or transfer alerts where available. It should not be used as a mugshot source. The safest approach is to identify the custody level first, then use the matching official locator or record request channel.
